Payroll Manager

Key Responsibilities-

1. Payroll Management

  • Administer and manage monthly payroll processing across all units and verticals.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy in salary computation, deductions, and payouts.
  • Validate attendance, overtime, leave, and shift data from HRMS
  • Prepare monthly salary registers, bank transfer statements, and payroll reconciliation reports.
  • Manage full and final settlements for exited employees within defined timelines.

2. Compliance & Statutory Management

  • Ensure timely deductions and payments for PF, ESI, PT, TDS, and other statutory components.
  • Maintain statutory registers and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • File all statutory returns and coordinate with auditors and authorities for inspections and queries.
  • Keep up-to-date with labour law changes and ensure the company’s payroll policies are compliant.

3. HRMS & Data Management

  • Oversee payroll module within HRMS and ensure data accuracy and system hygiene.
  • Work closely with the HRIS team for automation, integration, and troubleshooting of payroll-related processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in all employee financial and personal information.

4. Process & Governance

  • Develop, document, and implement payroll-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct periodic internal payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Establish a payroll calendar and enforce strict adherence to submission deadlines by all units.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

5. Reporting & Analytics

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll analytics and dashboards for management review.
  • Analyse cost trends, headcount movements, and overtime patterns.
  • Support budgeting and manpower cost forecasting activities.

6. Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Coordinate with HR, Operations, and Finance for payroll data, approvals, and clarifications.
  • Support training and capacity-building for HRBPs and unit-level HR on payroll and compliance practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide payroll executives to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.
